- The Haunted Galena Ghost Walk begins at the Dowling House, 220 Diagonal St. Galena.
- Tours begin promptly at their start time.
- No Drunk or disruptive behavior will be tolerated. Disruptive or clearly drunk customers will be ejected with no refunds…period. Every member of a drunk customers party will also be ejected without refund.
- Absolutely no smoking anywhere on tour.
- There are no restrooms at the tour starting point, please use the facilities before you arrive.
- This tour is for ages 7+. Be advised we discuss murder, death, and dark history so use your discretion in bringing children.
- Due to insurance and facility restrictions, No pets allowed on tours, service animals only.
- Dress for the weather, but know that we do not operate in dangerous or threatening weather.
- Be ready to walk, bring an umbrella if needed.
- Bug spray provided in season
- We are a story telling based ghost tour, not a ghost hunting ghost tour. You may bring your own ghost hunting equipment on the tour as long as it is non disruptive to the performance.
- The tour is a storytelling tour. Please be courteous to others by not disrupting the narrative with chatter.
- Photo taking is encouraged, video recording is not allowed.
- Please silence your phones for the tour.

Spirits & Spirits Tour
A Haunted Happy Hour – Year Round Tour – Most Saturdays at 4pm
Our “Bootlegger” guide will take you into Three truly haunted Galena Establishments: The DeSoto Hotel, Galena Cellars Winery, and The Galena Brewing Company. You will learn about the ghosts who haunt these fine establishments, other famous Galena ghosts, and a bit about the area’s dark history.
It’s the Spirits who haunt and the Spirits we drink, shaken (but never stirred) into a spooky and fun 90-minute tour. Our Haunted Happy Hour! Tour three haunted locations and enjoy three specialty drinks, all included.
Just $32.00 per person.
- You must book your Spirits & Spirits Tour before 3pm on the date of the tour.
- Ticket price includes 3 Specialty Drinks (one per location) and your tour experience.
- Spirits & Spirits tours depart from A Darkness Lovely (304 South Main Street, Galena) at 4pm on Saturdays.

Dowling House Historic Tours
Opens in May
The Dowling House was built in 1826 by John Dowling, and was the first stone building in Galena. It was a Trading Post and the Dowling family private residence. Faithfully restored to its original 1826 appearance and condition, the Dowling House Historic Tour offers an incredible journey back in time, and will give you a genuine, immersive perspective into Galena’s frontier and lead mining past. Fun for all, all ages welcome. Family friendly daytime tours.

- 40 Minute Guided Tour Through The 1826 Dowling House.
- Tours offered daily May through October.
- Located at 220 Diagonal St. just across Main St. from Fried Green Tomatoes Restaurant.
- Attached Gift Shop and Ticket Office.
- Tickets are available for Dowling House Tours in person at the Dowling House Gift Shop. Gift Shop opens at 10:45 am.
- Tickets are first come first served, as availability allows. Tours limited to 16 people at a time.
- Tours run on the hour, starting at 11 am. Last tour at 3 pm.
- Combo Tickets including The Belvedere Mansion are Available in person at the Dowling House Gift Shop.
- The Dowling House is an historic tour, not a haunted themed tour, but strange things have occurred.
- Bring your camera! Still pictures allowed, no ongoing audio or video recording please.
- The Dowling House is a museum, do not handle or sit on furniture, keep kids under control at all times. Kids 12 and under are free, but MUST be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian.
- Disruptive, drunk, unruly or combative behavior will result in ejection without refund.
- Sorry, no bathroom facilities, and not wheelchair/handicapped accessible.
